This was our first animation job. Scott Philbrook, an old friend and editor at Fluid, called us up and asked if we would be interested in creating a short film that would play before the Battle of the Ad Bands at Irving Plaza in New York. (The show is a charity venue where advertising agency garage bands compete for the best band and all the proceeds go to help the public schools of New York.) Of course we said yes. The catch was there was no money and we had less than a month to pull off this 3-minute film. Ro was still working at the SciFi channel at the time, which meant we could only shoot at night. We also had never projected more than one face at a time onto a doll, and this film required us to film up to 4 in one shot. Oh, and we didn't have a camera. Luckily our friend, Karl Steinbrenner in Richmond, Virginia lent us his Nikon and a number of friends in the city came out to lend us their faces and voice talents.
